Step-by-step directions to donate to LEAP online:

1. Click on the “Donate to our work now through GreaterGood SA” button on this page, this will take you to our page on GreaterGood SA’s website.

2. Click on the “Donate to this Cause” button on the right hand side of the page, this will direct you to the first page of the payment process on GreaterGood SA’s website. It should say “You are donating to: LEAP Science and Maths School” at the top of the page.

3. In order for us to know that the money is coming from you, you will need to register with GreaterGood SA. This can be done by clicking on “Register Now” in the right hand column on the page. It is a very quick process with only a few mandatory fields to complete. (You will only need to this the first time you make a payment through GreaterGood SA.)

4. Once registered, you will need to enter your log-in information. You will need your email address and the password you selected during the registration process.

5. This will direct you back to the page in the payment process you were at before registration. You will need to enter the amount that you would like to donate in South African Rands in the space provided.

6. You will then be asked to select your payment method (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, etc)

7. At the next stage you need to enter the card holder’s details - Name, credit card number, expiry date and CVV (the last 3 digits at the back your card) – and then click “Donate Now”

8. The payment is then complete.

MySchool

Nominating LEAP Science and Maths School as your beneficiary school in the MySchool programme is an easy way to generate funding for LEAP.

MySchool is a partnership between business partners, consumer supporters and schools all striving to create a better future for learners in South Africa.

Supporters use their MySchool supporter cards whenever they transact with one of the MySchool business partners including Woolworths, Engen, Walton's, SupaQuick, kalahari.net, Quiksilver, Toys R Us and Reggie's. A small percentage of the transaction is then allocated to your beneficiary school. All these transactions are recorded and a statement of the transactions is sent to individual supporters on a monthly basis. The supporter card is not a debit or credit card but serves as a measure through which transactions and funds raised for a particular school are tracked.

Tax Benefits for South African Donors

The LEAP Science and Maths School is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO No 930005342), therefore donations to LEAP by South African individuals and corporates are tax-deductible up to 5% of their total income. Additionally, because of our Public Benefit Organisation status, the normal donations tax ceiling of R30,000 does not apply. LEAP will issue Section 18A certificates to all donors, as these certificates are required when completing tax return forms.
